



Jerrica Benton (Aubrey Peeples), a very talented girl who lives in a small town of California with her sister Kimber (Stefanie Scott) and foster sisters Aja (Hayley Kiyoko) and Shana (Aurora Perrineau). They all want to become amazing musicians. The girls are living with Jerrica and Kimber’s, Aunt Bailey (Molly Ringwald).
Jerrica was scared to upload a video of herself performing in disguise, going by the nickname “Jem”. Kimber secretly uploads an acoustic performance Jerrica/Jem filmed in her bedroom and the clip immediately goes viral. YouTube was Jerrica’s ticket to success.
Shortly, Jem’s debut performance attracts the attention, Starlight Music head Erica Raymond (Juliette Lewis). The girls accept the deal, sending the four young musicians further on their way to becoming musical superstars. Jerrica came along with Kimber and their foster sisters, Shana (Aurora Perrineau) and Aja (Hayley Kiyoko), as her backup band. Erica places them all under the watchful eye of her dutiful son, Rio (Ryan Guzman).
However, Jerrica is faced with a career decision that could ruin her and her sister's relationship. Erica wants Jerrica to ditch her sisters and become a solo pop star.
Jerrica decided to stick with her sisters.
Later, they come across a robot called S1N3RGY built by the Benton sisters' deceased father, which leads them on their high road to fame.
“I love movies about music and fame. The movie had a good plot about not being selfish. I really liked this movie.”, says Autumn VanHorn, a Southaven high school senior.
“The movie is so up to date on current events, because many people are being discovered on YouTube . I like the songs. The songs were very catchy. The movie was actually pretty good. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again.” , says Emari Heath, a Whitehaven high school freshman.
